Pritzker Prize winning architect Richard Meier presents an overview of his career beginning with the early days of working in his personal design studio/apartment while teaching at Pratt. This overarching lecture addresses various typologies and project scales and sheds light on his experience of progressing from individual to collaborative work. Meier starts with a collection of rural residential projects highlighting the correspondence of public and private. He focuses on the spatial organization of his forms, their transparency and their relationship to nature. He continues with bigger commercial and civic projects highlighting issues of planning and concludes with the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
