Dr. Sharon Egretta Sutton — Leaving Home for Uncharted Territory

To commemorate her Golden Anniversary of teaching, Dr. Sharon Egretta Sutton, FAIA, will present Works on Paper: A Retrospective Celebration at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture’s Hazel and Robert H. Siegel Gallery, on view from September 22 to October 24, 2025. The exhibition showcases a series of collages that transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, tracing Dr. Sutton’s creative journey over five decades. In conjunction with the exhibition, Dr. Sutton will deliver a gallery talk, Four Stages of My Creative Journey: 1975 – Present, on September 22, offering insight into the development of her artistic and pedagogical practice. She will also give a formal presentation on her memoir on October 9, 2025, further reflecting on her life, work, and legacy in architecture and education.
