Pratt faculty member Gamal El-Zoghby talks about his life experiences starting out with his education in architecture in his native Egypt. The architect talks about the struggles he faced in his career and how they shaped the evolution of his work and highlights the difference between thinking about architecture and thinking about science, philosophy or art. He talks about the essence of architecture and its “demands of us to reinvent ourselves through it”. El-Zoghby talks about his methods of understanding, explaining and demonstrating architecture before presenting slides of work done during his sabbatical.
