About the Speaker
Shannon Lee (she/they) is a writer and editor currently based in the Hudson Valley (unceded lands of the Esopus peoples of Lenapehoking). They are the current and founding editor of The Amp at Asian American Arts Alliance, as well as the editor of Artlab Editorial.
As an editor, she has worked with many esteemed writers and essayists, including Erica Cardwell, Mira Dayal, Hua Hsu, Mimi Wong, Ryan Lee Wong, and Linyee Yuan. Lee's own writing practice covers art, ecology, and Asian diaspora. Previously, they worked as an associate editor for Artsy covering news and the art market and the PR firm, Cultural Counsel. She also co-founded an experimental environmental journalism platform called Silica Mag in 2015.
