Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Shigeru Ban gives a lecture on architecture, society, privilege and natural disasters. Ban was educated at Tokyo University of the Arts, SCI-Arc and Cooper Union. He presents a range of projects from his early days as a practitioner and exhibition designer to contemporary work constructed all over the world. The architect begins by highlighting his methods of reuse and readaptation, particularly in the use of cardboard and paper. The extensive collection of projects presented thereafter range in scale and typology from small residential projects to a 50,000 square foot transportable museum.
