In FA24, a senior options studio investigated New York City interior privately owned public spaces [INT POPS] as sites for design intervention. Emerging AI technologies were fundamentally integrated into the design process. Students were introduced to methods to support contextual research, data analysis, concept development, design ideation, and representation.
Joette Jones is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute's School of Design who bridges technology and interior design through her research and teaching practice. Her work explores the integration of artificial intelligence in design processes, resulting in 22 case studies developed through INT401, while her MFA thesis investigated intelligent spatial design facilitated through biometric data and AI.
Karin Tehve is a Professor of Interior Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Her own research and writing concentrates on taste, media technology, and identity, and their intersection with the public realm.
