Principal of Los Angeles-based Morphosis Architects, Thom Mayne returns to Pratt to describe the experimental work of his practice that reached a global scale. Having received the Pritzker Prize a couple of years before, he talks about “the way we [architects] think, and the type of questions we ask”. He describes the progression of an architecture career that starts at a small scale and gradually builds up, highlighting the pitfalls and lessons picked up along the way. He describes his career as a “resistance and a struggle to move outside of the bounds of the limitations that are placed on us” before presenting a series of Morphosis Architects’ work.
