Cecily, a cute, young woman does not seem to represent the typical Realm clientele. At Realm,

customers can build their own virtual fantasies–and Realm seems to know the most profitable

use of this technology, advertising its services for blatantly deviant purposes. Customers are

given the option to choose from template characters and storylines or to harness the power of

the internet, mining the data of public social media pages to create a virtual facsimile of a

fantasy person and place. While Realm positions itself as a momentary break from everyday

life, Cecily soon realizes fantasies are not as escapable as reality.
