World-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind provides an overview of his methods and processes in a presentation of four competition-winning museum designs that combine traditional and contemporary approaches. He starts his presentation with the Felix Nussbaum House in Osnabrück in north-west Germany, an extension of the Cultural History Museum. Libeskind follows by presenting the ideas that drove the design of the Jewish Museum in Berlin, which was being constructed at the time, and its spatial and structural organization. He then describes the unbuilt design of the extension to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London before finishing off with Manchester’s Imperial War Museum North.
