Architecture Lecture Series: Chris Burden, "Pizza City and Related Sculptures"

American artist Chris Burden gives a lecture on the intersection of art and architecture. He discusses his experiences in Pomona College in California where he got his BA in visual art, physics and architecture before moving on to work he did during his time at UC Irvine where he received his MFA. He presents slides of his artwork defined as “installation performance art” that focuses on the interplay between structure, sculpture and motion. He concludes his lecture with a short film displaying the creation of an “abstract expressionist steel sculpture”.
